Neither his xFIP (1.40 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (5.8 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 5.42 | 15.9 % | 10.0 % | 5.9 % | 1.85 |
| vs right-handed batters | 4.02 | 21.6 % | 3.6 % | 18.0 % | 1.02 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
