NHL goalies — who actually saved more than expected

Save percentage rewards a goalie whose team blocks the dangerous chances. Goals saved above expected does not: it compares what he allowed to what an average goalie would have allowed on the exact shots he faced, weighted by where they came from. A goalie at +15 won his team roughly fifteen goals over the season on his own.

A backup on eight starts does not have a GSAx, he has a hot week or a bad one. These 32 goalies played, but not enough for the number to describe them.
