His ERA and his SIERA disagree by 1.22. The ERA is the flattering one — what has happened behind him has been kinder than the way he is getting outs. SIERA is built from strikeouts, walks and contact, so it settles far faster than ERA does.
His strikeout rate moves by 12.9 points between the two sides — he misses far more bats against right-handed batters. His xFIP barely moves (1.20), because his walk rate rises on the same side he strikes more out — which is exactly why the estimator alone hides this. A gap this size changes the read of a start.

xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
