Neither his xFIP (1.27 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (4.0 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 5.25 | 15.4 % | 8.9 % | 6.5 % | 1.50 |
| vs right-handed batters | 3.98 | 19.4 % | 6.5 % | 12.9 % | 0.82 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
