Neither his xFIP (1.00 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (7.5 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 5.21 | 26.2 % | 19.6 % | 6.5 % | 1.59 |
| vs right-handed batters | 4.21 | 18.6 % | 9.8 % | 8.8 % | 1.42 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
