Neither his xFIP (0.27 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (1.5 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 3.47 | 26.3 % | 8.2 % | 18.1 % | 0.86 |
| vs right-handed batters | 3.74 | 24.8 % | 9.7 % | 15.0 % | 2.13 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
