Neither his xFIP (0.45 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (2.7 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 3.31 | 28.6 % | 5.6 % | 23.0 % | 1.21 |
| vs right-handed batters | 3.76 | 25.9 % | 8.0 % | 17.9 % | 0.29 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
