Neither his xFIP (0.08 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (7.0 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 3.80 | 28.5 % | 10.1 % | 18.4 % | 0.92 |
| vs right-handed batters | 3.72 | 21.5 % | 5.6 % | 15.9 % | 1.63 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
