Neither his xFIP (0.36 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (2.1 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 4.10 | 23.7 % | 9.3 % | 14.4 % | 0.51 |
| vs right-handed batters | 4.46 | 21.6 % | 6.8 % | 14.8 % | 1.57 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
