Neither his xFIP (0.48 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (0.3 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 5.16 | 16.7 % | 11.7 % | 5.0 % | 1.41 |
| vs right-handed batters | 4.68 | 16.9 % | 7.3 % | 9.7 % | 1.52 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
