Neither his xFIP (0.73 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (2.2 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 4.16 | 29.7 % | 15.2 % | 14.5 % | 1.48 |
| vs right-handed batters | 3.43 | 31.9 % | 11.4 % | 20.5 % | 0.46 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
