Neither his xFIP (0.75 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (2.4 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 4.63 | 21.0 % | 9.5 % | 11.5 % | 0.95 |
| vs right-handed batters | 3.88 | 18.6 % | 6.2 % | 12.4 % | 0.47 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
