Neither his xFIP (0.23 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (3.0 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 3.89 | 28.6 % | 11.6 % | 17.1 % | 1.45 |
| vs right-handed batters | 3.66 | 25.6 % | 8.1 % | 17.5 % | 0.74 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
