Neither his xFIP (0.99 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (0.3 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 4.71 | 19.7 % | 10.6 % | 9.2 % | 0.28 |
| vs right-handed batters | 5.70 | 19.4 % | 11.9 % | 7.5 % | 1.26 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
