Neither his xFIP (0.07 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (2.2 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 4.77 | 15.6 % | 6.7 % | 8.9 % | 2.36 |
| vs right-handed batters | 4.70 | 13.4 % | 3.9 % | 9.5 % | 1.35 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
