Neither his xFIP (0.18 between sides) nor his strikeout rate (0.6 points) moves much depending on the batter’s hand. That is worth knowing too: the read on his night has to come from somewhere else.
| xFIP | K% | BB% | K-BB% | HR/9 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| vs left-handed batters | 4.14 | 20.4 % | 9.7 % | 10.7 % | 1.07 |
| vs right-handed batters | 4.32 | 19.8 % | 7.5 % | 12.2 % | 1.56 |
xFIP rather than SIERA by hand: FanGraphs does not publish SIERA in its splits. The two describe the same thing and correlate at about 0.95.
